Street Stock
Next step up from Pure Stock. If you feel you must build a high dollar motor or trick racecar, this is not the class for you, Pro Stock or UMP Modified is more in your line.
BODY: Stock production body only. Hoods may be gutted.
CID must be displayed on hood at all times. Minimum weigh 3100lbs.
Firewall may be altered for distributor clearance, if necessary. No engine
set back or off set. No cut out holes in firewall. All general and safety
rules apply. Doors may be gutted. Any bars necessary to insure rigid frame
and radiator protection will be permitted behind front and rear bumpers.
Stock wheelbase for car being used + or - 1. No compacts or pick-ups.
Front inner panels optional. Trunk lid may be gutted. Aftermarket
nosepiece allowed. Sheet metal or aluminum doors allowed 22 or 24 gauge
only and must have stock bodylines. Stop sign post material allowed
between front and rear fenders on side of body to protect sheet metal and
paint jobs. Front and rear firewalls must be in stock location. Air
cleaner hole allowed in hood. Factory spoilers or sheet metal spoilers
with no more than two spoiler supports no part being 5 taller than the
rear edge of the trunk lid, and no wider than the trunk. Metal dash
allowed. Stock unaltered floor pan required. Front fender wells and hood
lining may be removed. The bottom of the drivers seat must be in front of
the rear edge of the door. This will allow 20-degree slant back seats to
be slightly behind the rear edge of the door. This rule applies to two and
four door cars.
CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION: Single disc clutch only 10.1/2 minimum, No aluminum flywheel. Stock type flywheel to weigh no less than 14Lbs, Stock type pressure plate no less than 13Lbs. Stock torque converter (13) required with automatic transmission. Functioning torque converter must weigh 38# minimum. Transmission may have shift kit installed. 1/4 steel plate surrounding stock bell housing, or blow proof bell housing required. No light flywheels, or small torque converters, or racing torque converters allowed.
FRONT SUSPENSION: Must be stock in stock location as produced by manufacturer. No cross breading (GM to GM, Ford to Ford etc.) Shock must be in stock location. Right front upper control arm may be reinforced for safety. Three wheel brakes allowed, brake bias optional. Racing springs allowed. Right front screw jack allowed. NO LEFT FRONT SCREW JACK. Any shock location on right front only. Steel shocks ONLY. Quick steer ok.
REAR SUSPENSION: Stock as produced by the manufacturer, except rear end housing may be replaced with any 5 or 6 lug rear end. Stock suspension and frame must be retained. NO heim ends allowed. NO Rear screw jacks allowed. Shocks must be in stock location. Steel shocks ONLY. No add on traction devices, or modifications of any kind. Adjustable shackles & adjustable lowering blocks and racing springs allowed. May use Ford 8 or 9 rear end (GM cars included). Rear end may be locked. May use disc brakes. Production rearend brakes allowed. WHEELS AND TIRES: NO aluminum wheels. EC1 or EC2 McCreary tires on 12 wheels. 11 Towel City recap tires optional, on 10 wheels. No cross grooving or siping of tires allowed. No wide 5 wheels or hubs. Large racing lug nuts and reinforced center on wheels recommended. Bead lock on right rear allowed. Anything not specified will revert back to stock. |
