Protest Tech man must receive $200.00 cash (no checks) and protest in writing during or immediately after that feature race (before cars clear tech) no spite protest will be accepted. (Example you may not protest a car that finished behind you just because he/she protested you!) NO protest will be ACCEPTED from any driver on his/her first race of the season! Protest MUST be signed. Protest will be accepted from drivers or car owners participating in class being protested only, no outsiders may protest. Protest fee ($150.00) will go to the protested car if legal. $50.00 goes to the race track. Protest fee (150.00) will be returned, if illegal, to protester. Any protest requiring engine removal (and/or tear down-rods, crank, etc.)(Bottom End) will be $300.00 ($250.00 to the car, and $50.00 for the race track). Money may be pooled among racers for protest. Protest MUST be in writing, clearly outlining part being protested. More than one part being protested will require an additional $25.00 per part. Only protested car will be checked. Tech man may inform the car owner or driver of any other parts not being protested that are illegal. Repairs will be required and verified at the next race attended, protested or not. The track may require tear down by car owner or crew at NO protest fee, at any time. Track will furnish gaskets if found to be legal. Protest may be observed by person signing protest, or anyone (only one) he appoints in his place. Only the driver and the car owner of the car being protested, and the protester (or designee) may be present at this time. Protester will see ONLY the part(s) listed in protest. The tech man's decision is final. Refusal of protest carries same penalty as being found Illegal in tear down. Additional fees will be assessed to any driver or owner protest that exceeds 2 protests per race season. The first 2 protest of the season will be as listed in protest procedure. Any protest that exceed that number will be assessed an additional $100.00 per time, additional fees will go the track points fund. Example: If a driver protest one top end item on all accounts it would $200.00 on the 1st & 2nd protest but the 3rd would be $300, the 4th $400, the 5th & $500 & so on for the remainder of that season.
This is not to prevent protest but to regulate & compensate to both the car owners & track owners.
If the track or a driver/car owner protests you and you are illegal you will lose all money for the night, all your points for the night, and one race suspension. Refusal to tear down will have same penalty. Anyone refusing tear down must tear down for free after suspension. If you are protested by the track or a driver/car owner a second time that racing season and found illegal twice in the same year you will lose all your points for the season, all your money that night and will be suspended for 30-days.
Any driver found illegal by a protest will lose his or her rights to protest for 60-days |
