General Rules And Safety Rules
If it is not in the rulebook, it is considered illegal.
All
classes except Stingers will be required to run mufflers (schoenfeld part #112535).
1. All
decisions, judgment calls, or interpretations of rules by track
officials will be final. There will be no arguing or disputes of the
track officials' decisions. Competitors in track events by entering
said events agree to abide by all official decisions. Every effort
will be made to insure that safety and fairness is extended to all
participants and management reserves the right to amend any rules or
regulations that would prompt a better quality or safe program.
2. No
one shall have any claim for damages, expenses, etc. against
promoter, track official, owner, participating racers, or any other
persons by reason of: disqualification, accidents, damage to either
car or driver (or both), theft, or acts of God, and they agree the
track is in a safe runable condition if they take part in any of the
racing activities. All pit crew members drivers and owners should be
informed and understand this. That insurance coverage begins where
your personal insurance stops, but with an applicable deductible.
3. All
drivers, car owners, mechanics, or any or person (s) assume full
responsibility for any and all injures sustained including death and
or property damage at the time they are on the race track premises
or in route to or from the track.
4. Promoter,
owner, and/or track officials have the right to reject any car,
driver or individual.
5. Management
reserves the right to inspect any racecar at any time. Failure to
allow this will result in disqualification without refund of money.
At the direction of any track official, any car can be disqualified
for any reason. Only the driver, and one other pit crewmember OR car
owner are allowed in the tech area.
6. Track
officials may run any type race program.
7. Payouts
are subject to change at any time as management deems necessary.

pay-out in any class with a minimum of 4 cars of that class starting
race.
Every car starting feature race will receive payout.
8. Any
person under the age of 18 will be allowed in pit area with a signed
minor release form from the parent or guardian only.
9. No
one allowed in the pit area without visible pit pass, that has
signed the required release form.
10. All
drivers must be at least 14 years old,
any driver under the age of 18 must have a minor’s release form
signed by parent or guardian.
11. No
one may enter the pit area or track until he/she has signed all
releases, registrations, and/or entry forms. No one will be
permitted at any time to sign the release form for anyone other than
himself or herself.
12. Steel
plate on the bottom of all jack stands recommended.
13. Either
the car owner or driver will be required to attend pit meeting, and
be on time. During the pit meeting, the Prayer, and the National
Anthem, all engines (including generators) must be turned off.
14. No
competitor, pit crewmember, mechanic, or any other person may
subject any official to abuse or improper language at any time. No
profanity will be tolerated. Any violations will be subject to fine
and/or suspension. Any complaints must be presented to promoter or
Race Director only (not to the tower, and not to the flagman) in a
civil manner (preferable written), AFTER the final feature
race has been ran. Only the car owner or driver will be
allowed to discuss any complaints/concerns with promoter or Race
Director No one will be allowed to discuss anything with track
officials. If a driver cannot control his pit crew, car owner, or
anyone else associated with his car, he and his crew can and will be
suspended from the track for any given period of time.
15. No
one under any circumstances is allowed on the flag stand or in it’s
immediate area. This will cost the driver a fine of $200 and/or
suspension.
16. All
payouts are final.
17. Anyone
who takes part in demonstrations or fights on track premises will be
subject to fines loss of prize money, points for the night and
suspension at Race Director Discretion.
18. Anyone
not conducting himself or herself in a safe and respectful manner
will be removed from the property. Any type of interference with the
flagman, tech man, or any other track official will be removed from
the property.
19. Any
privately owned vehicle not used to tow a racecar or supplies for
track use will not be allowed to enter the pit area.
20. After
entering the track for a race, should you have to exit the track for
any reason, you must restart on the rear. No working on the racecar
on the racetrack, on the exit ramp, entrance ramp, or on the apron.
No one (car owner, pit crew, etc.) other than the car and driver
will be allowed on the track, near the track, on entrance ramp, or
exit ramp, or the apron. All pit persons must stay behind the pit
fence at all times, this is for your own safety.
21. All
cars must start on their own power.
22. No
off-color or obscene drawings or slogans on racecars. Any type of
language, pictures, or drawings on cars deemed inappropriate for a
clean family environment will be disqualified.
23. All
cars must slow (yellow flag), or stop (red flag) immediately. If you
do not, you will be black-flagged. No car may enter the track until
the track official releases them to enter the track.
24. All
racecars must be clean and neat in appearance upon arrival at the
racetrack.
25. Cars
must have a hood in place before going on race track.
26. All
race car numbers must be a minimum of 18” high and 3” wide, and
neatly displayed on both sides and the roof (roof numbers must face
the stands). 4’’ numbers must be placed front and rear
(headlight and taillight areas) for lineup. For scoring purposes,
track officials have the right to temporarily change car numbers to
avoid duplications. Management is not responsible for scoring (or
not scoring) cars that have illegible numbers. Numbers must be clean
before entering race track.
27. Under
no circumstances will vehicles other than eligible racecars be
permitted to enter the track after the green flag drops. No vehicle,
or person (s) other than emergency personnel, and/or track officials
will go to an accident scene.
28. The
flagman is the absolute authority concerning the racetrack surface.
29. When
you are called to line up for a race, you must quickly take your
position. Check the line-up board BEFORE entering the staging lane.
If you are not in line when cars pull out for a race, you will start
in the rear. A missing car’s position will be filled by moving
straight up. During the race, if you don’t get into line, or
refuse to let someone get into line where the track officials tell
you, you will go to the rear, and/or be black-flagged. Track
officials will not hold up a race to dispute where you think you
should be. Do not stop and discuss this with a track official,
you will be black-flagged for that race. If track officials put
you to the rear due to a caution (or any other reason), you must go
there immediately, or be subject to the black flag. If any car
appears to be hazardous, or fuel cell exposed it will be
black-flagged.
30. Pole
position car is responsible for the pace only. The race will start
at the cone upon the flagman’s green flag. Any car that fires
before the cone will be sent to the rear (you will be allowed only
one warning, jump once you are warned, jump twice and you go to the
rear). If you go to the left side of the cone, or run over the cone,
you are out of the race. After two incomplete double file starts,
cars will then be started on a single file start. All cars must take
the green flag on the start of the feature race to get paid, the
only exception will be for special events, and management reserves
the right to determine that pay at any time.
31. Any
car causing 2 cautions will go to the pits, if you spin Two times,
you need some adjustments.
32. Drivers
MUST stay in their cars while on the racetrack; Drivers are not
permitted to get out of their cars during any event, unless so
instructed by an official. Doing so without such approval will
result in disqualification for the NIGHT. Only EXCEPTION is
for safety if your car is on fire or upside down. No crew member
allowed on the race track.
33. Cars
involved in a wreck may pull up to turn 1 exit ramp for check out by
track officials during yellow flag. Corner workers will perform very
minor sheet metal removal or bending to clear tires, or obstruction
only. If repair is more than minor, car will be sent to the pits. No
loss of position for minor check out at turn 1, if you leave the
track at any time you must start in the rear. If fuel cell is
exposed you will be sent to the pits.
34. Lapped
cars will restart at the rear. If the leader passes you, you are
considered a lap down. If you enter the track after the green flag
is thrown, you are a lap down.
35. Heat
race time limit 10 minutes, with the only exception for emergency
personnel, or tow trucks. Feature time limit 30 minutes, with the
only exception for emergency personnel, or tow trucks. Exceptions
apply to “special events”, and management reserves the right to
limit races, as they deem necessary.
36. More
than 1 heat race will be run if 12 cars or more are present in a
class. In the event more cars enter a race in a class that can be
safely raced together, management reserves the right to split the
cars, as they deem appropriate.
37. The
scorekeepers determine restart line-ups.
38. We
do not race back to the yellow, except on the white flag lap only.
39. Upon
a caution, we will restart the cars based on the last completed
green flag lap. Any car or cars causing a caution will be sent to
the rear. Any car can be subject to the black flag. Judgment calls
are at the discretion of the track officials.
40. If a Yellow
flag is thrown on the
white flag lap, then those crossing the finish line will be scored,
the car or cars causing the caution will be scored last. If a car
gets taken out on the last lap and the track official sees it then
there will be RED
LIGHT then on the restart
there will be green- white- checkered flag finish.
41. Any
bumping or unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to the black flag.
42. For
a caution, all cars are to maintain a single file line, to allow the
scorers to make sure line-ups are correct.
43. No
mirrors or two-way radios in any car in any class.

44. No
electronic traction control allowed in any class!!
45. Track
officials must be notified of a driver change before you enter the
staging lanes. If you are requesting the rear, you must notify pit
steward immediately.
46. Drinking
allowed ONLY in designated areas and must be purchased at SMS.
Absolutely no alcohol will be allowed in the pits or in areas other
than those designated. Illegal drug possession or use will not be
tolerated. Offenders of this alcohol and drug rule will be subject
to immediate ejection from the premises and/or local law officials.
Pit crew offenders shall subject driver and car to ejection from the
track.
47. Any
driver or pit crewmember participating in the racing program may be
suspended if caught in the beer garden.
48. Cars
going in and out of the pits and traveling through the pits must
maintain a slow, moderate, safe rate of speed. Drivers leaving or
entering the pits in a reckless manner will be subject to
disqualification.
49. Cars
must be equipped with dry type fire extinguisher no smaller than 2
lbs. mounted within easy reach of the driver. Fire extinguisher must
be equipped with gauge.
50. All
fuel cells must be enclosed in a steel container mounted in the
trunk area with a minimum of 2 steel straps securing it. May be
manufactured with 1” angle iron, 1” square tubing, or 2” x 1/8”
flat bar, and all joints must be welded. Fuel cell must be securely
grounded. No dual fuel cells. All cars are
required to run a check valve on the overflow line on all fuel cells
for safety of all the drivers.
51. A
5-point quick release safety harness no less than 3” wide is
mandatory. All ends must be fastened to roll cage or frame with
minimum 3/8” grade 8 bolts & lock nuts or lock washer must be
used. An approved aluminum racing seat mandatory.
52. All
cars must have a roll cage approved by track officials. Minimum .083
thicknesses and 1 1/2” OD steel tubing must be welded to frame.
Aluminum, threaded pipe, and fittings are not permitted. Minimum 3
bars in driver’s door and 2 in passenger door. Bars may extend
front and rear, but must not protrude outside of bumpers. Mandatory
1/8” plate form front to rear on the driver’s door bars (except
Late Model Sportsman and Late Models). Any X bracing or reinforcing
to brace frame recommended.
53. All
glass and upholstery must be removed.
54. If
driver’s compartment is boxed in, it must be done so in a manner
to allow track officials or medical personnel to remove the driver
from either side of the car (12” vertical clearance minimum.
55. Three
3/8” steel bars in front of driver in the windshield area, and
Stock car window nets required. Window net must have a quick release
at the upper left hand corner.
56. Doors
must be welded shut, no chains.
57. Scatter
shield required on standard transmissions, or safety (blow proof)
bell housing.
58. No
grass burner exhausts.
59. Radiators,
oil coolers, water, oil, or gas lines are not allowed inside the
driver’s compartment
60. Brakes
must work on at least 3 wheels. Must have functioning brakes on both
rear wheels.
61. Battery
box must be bolted or welded (no straps allowed).
Any battery in drivers compartment must have approved box with lid.
62. There
must be a firewall between the driver and engine, and driver and
fuel cell, 16 gauge steel minimum.
63. Unibody
cars must have the frame tied together and approved by the Tec man.
64. Fireproof
racing suits and shoes required, gloves recommended. If two-piece,
both pieces must be worn. Minimum Snell 85 approved helmets with
face shield required.
65. Weights
must be securely bolted or welded and have your car number on them.
No weights in the driver’s compartment. Any weight lost can not be
reclaimed! No weights on bumpers or Nerf Bars. Driveshafts and
weights must be painted white and clean at all times.
66. All
cars must have a 360° steel driveshaft loop 6” behind the yoke of
the driveshaft.
67. Pick
up hoops, or chains mounted securely front and rear required.
Wrecker crew and track officials will not be responsible for damage
done to cars.
68. Wheel
openings must be rolled under, no sharp metal to outside. Tube
bumpers must be rolled in, No tire cutting bumpers.
69. Firearms,
other than paid security officials are strictly forbidden on track
property.
70. Should
any race be called off because of bad weather conditions with less
than half the race program completed, no purse will be paid, and all
paid attendees (spectators, pits, etc.) will keep their ticket stubs
(and/or pit passes) for rain check to be used the following week. If
more than half the race program has been completed, race program
will be considered complete and purses will be paid for the
completed portion of races. No refunds will be given.
71. These
rules are intended for your safety and fairness. If you believe you
have found a loophole, consider it illegal. If you show up with a
trick that was not intended for your class, it will be considered
illegal. Anything not specified will revert back to stock.
All state and local laws will be enforced on track
property.
